Pet friendly doors

My cats can never work if they want to be in, out or somewhere in between. They have the run of the house though, so we have placed pet doors all through the house on both the external and internal doors. Some doors can easily have a pet door added to them and in some doors it is nearly impossible and very expensive to have a pet door added. This blog has some tips on what to look for in a door if you have pets, to make sure that your new door is perfect for the whole family (including the furry members!).

Protect Your Home With These Types Of Security Doors

As a homeowner, ensuring the safety and security of your property and loved ones must be a top priority. One of the best ways to safeguard your home is by installing a security door. Not only do they act as a deterrent to burglars and intruders, but they also offer many other benefits, like improving energy efficiency and reducing noise pollution. Read on for a quick look at five different types of security doors and their unique features.

Steel Security Doors

The steel security door is designed to be highly resistant to damage and can withstand even the toughest of break-in attempts. Steel doors have a solid inner framework that is covered by a durable steel skin. They can be custom-made to fit any doorway and come in different finishes to suit your home's aesthetic. Additionally, steel doors are energy-efficient and help reduce noise pollution.

Screen Doors

Screen doors may not seem like a security option at first glance, but they are designed to keep out unwanted visitors. These doors are built with a steel mesh that can't be cut or kicked in. The mesh is also excellent for ventilation, allowing you to enjoy the breeze without inviting in pests or intruders.

Wooden Security Doors

If you're looking for an aesthetically appealing option, wooden security doors are an excellent consideration. They have a traditional look that blends well with most homes, giving the house an elegant and classic touch. These doors have a solid core that is usually covered with a thick layer of veneer. Despite their beauty, these doors provide significant security against intruders. When you install a wooden security door, be sure to consider your location, as they are not suitable for areas prone to harsh weather conditions.

Aluminium Security Doors

For homeowners who are looking for a long-lasting and low-maintenance option, aluminium security doors are the way to go. They are designed with a high-quality alloy that is resistant to rust, corrosion and weather elements. They come in a variety of finishes and can also be custom-made to fit your doorway. One of the downsides of aluminium doors is that they are less robust compared to steel doors.

Iron Doors

These are the ultimate security doors in terms of strength and durability. Iron security doors are designed with a solid steel frame that is covered with wrought iron grille designs. They are suitable for industrial and modern homes due to their design. Iron doors also add significant value to a home when reselling. They are weather-resistant and perfect for extreme climates.
